1. Why does the author put epilogue at the end of the stories? How does it explain about author herself? The story named Epilogue basically displays the life conditions of women in the Haiti. They are unknowledgeable and live a life by following the “strict rules” of Haiti. They live dependently on their husbands and family. They have no freedom and rights to decide their own life. Everything they do is based on their family and being a woman. For example, at the beginning of the story, the author use a lot of sentences to describes their life conditions by using tone of “your mother”, which brings the readers into the story deeply.
