Epilogue notes
The narrator of the epilogue mostly speak in the second perspective by using “you” statement. The story begins with “your mother”. “Your mother who looked like your grandmother and her grandmother before her.” I think it kinds of connects with the story “nineteen thirty-seven.” There are also lots of describes about the relationship between a mother and written. At the beginnings, it implies the mother’s perspective of “always use your ten fingers.” And the sound of writing also compare with the sound of “Kira krak” which is foreshadowing and symbols of the woman’s perspective of writing. So when the daughter shows her mother about her writing career, her mother is so disappointed about that. In the story, wirting could not be a thing that woman in this area could do. For example, the author compare the relationship between trees and pencils and pen to show her spirit of writing. However, as the reason of her “mother”, she is so struggling of being a writer. I think the story is basically foreshadowing the author’s life condition. Also, in the story, it also has a lot of connection with the previous stories.
