New York woman and night woman
I would like to combine the Night woman and New York day woman together to show the different life condition of Haiti woman. The night woman and New York day woman met each other in Celianne’s ceremony and they have been friends for ten years. They live in different life. The first scene would be the night woman. In the night woman, there are three characters included. At the beginning, I would like to let the night women to have a monologue to express about herself, which shows the background of their life and what she suffers everyday. Especially, we need to point out her love to her son. So there’s supposed to a scene that the night woman look at her son while he is sleeping. Then she would have a wisphere to herself about her son and her life. During the monologue, the lights should only focus on the woman and the background music should be sad and depressed with slow melody, which could show her emotion better. Later, when her son wakes up, there would be a conversation between them, which basically tells the story about the angles. Here, the light should be bright and the background music would fade away. Then her son would leave the stage.
Then the stage would turn to black and the New York day woman comes in and there would be a conversation between her and her daughter, who is the narrator of the story. And would have a arguement which comes from the quotes from the book. Then the daughter would leave the stage by angry face. The New York day woman starts to do her work and the light would focus on her. She would give a monologue about her life situation, which has a contrast with the night woman. The background music should be peaceful and slow melody. Later, the stage would turn to dark again.
There are some wisphere starts as the background music. The lights of the stage is rasing on. The night woman is siting on the bed with smoking a cigarette. There are some male clothes on the bed. She is smoking a cigarette. And at the time, her son comes and asks her mother what the sound is just now. The night woman lies him by telling the lie about the angle again. They have a short conversation according to the end of the story. Then the son would leave the stage. The night woman would freeze on the stage. The New York day woman comes in and starts to clean the ground. Then, her daughter also comes by following her. She points out about the day woman’s job. They had a conversation with each other. At the end the daughter would leave. At the end, the night and day woman would have a monologue bu themselves for two part of the stage,. The night woman would starts and the light would only focus on her. The background would be sad and depressed. Then, the New York day woman would have a more joyful and peaceful with her monologue. Then the background music and the light would fade away at the end.
