in class writing
According to all the performance e had done for these days, there are server all points which makes the poetry connects with the audience better. First, the background music is pretty connecting with the peotry. Usually, we have some emotion that we would like to express. The background music as one of the elements in our performance strength the emotions. For example, Nan’s peom is depress and sad. So she choosed slow and sad melody music, which helps the audience more into her performance because of the music infect our moods. Secondly, the body language also plays an important role in the prformance. Most of us are using actions to connect with the peotry. For example, “to be able to walk along and see” is one of the stanzas in my peom, so I walk along on the bridge and pretend to look back. The actions help the audience to understand our peotry more about the details. Also, the body language is expressing our emotion at the same time. Helen’s performance could be an vivid example, her poem is about love and sad. So she tightens herself or cover her face to express the emotion, which affects the audience more instead of standing there without any movements. Thirdly, the props is also really important since all of us has used props to connect with our peom. In my peom, I describes “love” by red roses. When I said, “I have ever loved”,I picked the red rose up and then look at it since red rose could represent “love” in some ways. Those props basically help us to concrete our emotion. Last, the lights make the audience focus on the actor. The thing that I think we should work on is the form of performance. I think we could think about more ways which help the peom to be more attractive and interesting.
