seize the day.

There are 9 stanzas in this poem, which could show us that it’s not a regular one because the stanzas contains uneven number. I could also recognize through each stanzas that the author has a more free style instead of all even number lines. The flow of the poem is more peaceful and slient. Each stanzas has been described to different meanings, however, the entire poem sends a message that we should be thankful and pleasure to our life and nature. The poem starts from a morning and the author creates an imagine in the audience’s mind of a fresh morning. Moreover, the poem ends for “welcome the night” which is kinds of foreshadowing and echo to the beginning part. It also describes the beauty of natural and the meaning of life.

At the beginning, the author creates an imagine of waking up in the morning and welcome a new day. I could also imagine in my mind that the sun is shining through the window and birds voice are outside. His lines leads the audience to think of the natural by themselves. For example, “the bug that irks you, the yellow butterfly that catches your eye, and the furred thing with sharp teeth that repels you—are all in you moment of history.” He mentions a lot of details in the lines such as the color of the butterfly. Also, some actions such as “catch” and “sharp” are really active in some ways. The details help build a imagine in the audience mind. His description of nation improves his theme “this day is a gift.” So, he describes the imagine and shows the audience how amazing the nature is.

Then the author advocates that we should concentrate on our life and be thankful for that. He illustrates that we should fall in love with our life and work since it is a pleasure for everyone. I like the way he describes that we should bring our love to our life by saying, “without love your spirit will be a flower picked without purpose and thrown on the ground the be trampled by anyone.” For the lines, he also describes the actions in a detailded way, which could develop his theme better. For example, he describes “without love your spirit” as a flower, which is “thrown on the ground” and “be trampled by anyone.” It helps us feel how “without love” would affect our life in a really bad way. It helps us understand more about that we should take our love to life. I like his way to simil our spirit and flower, which is more active and bringing deep feeling to the readers.

At the end, the author conclude the whole poem by “welcome the night.”, which is kinds of echoing with the beginning part. It starts with a fresh morning and a peaceful night. “You must imagine and learn to embrace each and every day.” The sentences highlights the whole poem in a clear way. The author directly implies the theme by sayin that we should take serious of our every day. We should bring love and appreciate to everyday in our life. The author illustrates how gorgeous the natural and the life is to show that we should be pleasure to our life. Also, he proves that in an opposite way by implying if we do not bring love to our life, how poor our spirit would be. The theme of the poem is clear for the readers since it’s easily to understand. Moreover, the author has a lot details to describe an imagine to the audience, which helps us to understand.
